Wake Up! Byron Bay offers a free sunrise shuttle up to the lighthouse every Monday & Wednesday morning. As hard as it is to get up early enough to catch a sunrise, it’s been absolutely worth it every single time I have done it here! This one was particularly special. I started off the morning taking photos with my camera. The crescent moon hanging horizontally in the sky was so unique & beautiful. This first handful of shots was taken at the lighthouse as we all sat and watched the sun begin to rise. It began to rain just before the sun came over the horizon, so I had to put the Sony away, but I got plenty of photos on my iPhone throughout our walk back to the hostel.
From the lighthouse, we walked down and around the most easterly point of Australia, and then along the beach all the way back to the hostel. We stopped at The Pass for coffee & a snack and stayed for a while to watch the surfers. In total, it took us about three hours to walk from the lighthouse to the hostel. We could have made better time but we stopped a lot to enjoy all the incredible views!
